20^th INTERNATIONAL CHORAL FESTIVAL

Under the patronage of the Minister of the Culture of Slovak Republic and Mayor of Town Vranov

Information about festival

• Non-competitive festival appointed for all age limits.
• The choirs from Slovakia and from abroad can take part in the festival.
• The concerts take place in the Culture House and in the churches in Vranov nad Topľou, in the church in Hanušovce n.T., and in the Culture House in Vysny Zipov.
• The conditions for the participation of the choirs in the festival:
• The choirs are invited:
  for official reciprocal change – they do not pay accommodation and board
  or without reciprocity – they pay for accommodation and board ( 50 € / whole stay / person)
• The accommodation and the board is offered in the holiday Centre in Juskova Voľa, in the hostel SZSP in Vranov n.T. or in PATRIOT Hotel in Vranov n.T. or in the holiday hostel at lake Domaša.
• The choirs will prepare for the common choir gala-concert the common composition by Eugen Suchoň „Aká si mi krásna“ (we will send scores).

Schedule of concerts:

• Each choir shall sing in 2-3 concerts, 2 concerts á 20 minutes, gala-concert á 8 minutes
• Friday 15th June a.m. in Culture House - Concerts „Children for children” and “Youth for youth”
• Friday 15th June evening – Festival concert in a church in Vranov nad Topľou - adults
• Friday 15th June p.m.-concert in church in Hanušovce n.T. - children, youth
• Saturday 16th June evening in gala-concert in Culture House Vranov n.T.
• Sunday 17th June a.m. - singing during mass in Vranov and Vysný Zipov (sacral compositions) and at the Sacral festival in Culture House in V. Zipov (one chosen foreign choir).

Thursday 14th June

• Arrival of the choirs and accommodation in hotels, hostels and families

Friday 15th June

• 08.30 - Opening of exhibition of children paints "Music country" in Culture House
• 09.00 - Seminar for conductors of Visegrad countries "Choral music and choreography" in Culture House
• 09.00 - 1st festival concert "Children for children" in Culture House
• 10.30 - 2nd festival concert "Children for children" in Culture House
• 14.00 - acceptance of the guests by Mayor of town Vranov n.T.– 1-2 heads of choir in Ceremony Hall
• 17.00 - 3rd festival concert in Evangelic Church in Hanušovce - youth chois
• 19.00 - 4th festival concert in a church in Vranov n.T. - adult choirs
• After concert - discussion evening and meeting of conductors in Culture Houe

Saturday 16th June

• 09.00 - trip of the choirs to city Prešov and to lake Domaša according to the weather
• 09.00 - Workshop and seminar for condustors of Visegrad countries
• 15.00 - Seminar "Slovak choral music" in Culture House
• 19.00 - Gala-concert in Culture House in Vranov Topľou n.T.
• 20.30 - Party for choirs in Culture House
• Conductors and guests – reception party in Restaurant Junior in Culture House Vranov

Sunday 17th June

• In the morning – singing of choirs during holy masses in Vranov and in Vysny Zipov - voluntary
• Singing to the Sacral festival in Vysny Zipov - a foreign choir + a christian choir from Slovakia
• Departure home – Sunday after breakfast or after singing in the mass
