The Girls’ Choir OZVENA was founded in 1980 at the city cultural center in Vranov nad Toplou by Vilma Krauspeova. Since 1994, it has been one of the choirs of the OZVENA Choral Association.
Artistic development
Almost all members are also pupils of the Private Music School in Vranov nad Toplou, studying choir singing and musical instruments.
From 1997 to 2008, the choir was led by PaedDr. Miroslava Urbanekova-Funakova, who also composed for the ensemble. In 2002, SZUS published her collection of 19 compositions, Ma pesnicka smutne ocka?
Repertoire and performances
- Annual participation in Vranovske zborove slavnosti.
- International performances in Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Sardinia, and other countries.
- Recordings for radio and Slovak television, including appearances in TV Markiza programming.
The choir also has its own CD recordings and a long competition history in Youth Is Singing, with gold, silver, and bronze bands.
Leadership
The ensemble is led by Vilma Krauspeova and Radovan Zajic. Accompanists are Vojtech Filip Kopko and Alexandra Grominova.
