Profile

The choir was founded in January 1996. Since its creation, it has performed at concerts and festivals in Slovakia and abroad.

International activity

The choir has performed in Switzerland, Serbia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Spain, Latvia, Bulgaria, Finland, Estonia, Canada, Greece, Sardinia, and Lithuania.

Awards and recordings

  • At TONEN 2000 in the Netherlands, the choir won two silver and one bronze medal.
  • In 2005, the OZVENA association and choir received the City of Vranov Award.
  • In 2008, at the Powell River International Choral Festival in Canada, the choir won first prize for its soloist.
  • In 2008, 2010, and 2022, the choir won a gold band at the regional Youth Is Singing competition and advanced to the national round, where it received a silver band.

Repertoire and role

The repertoire includes contemporary Slovak and international works, polyphonic and sacred pieces, spirituals, and folk-song arrangements. The choir is a member of Europa Cantat and helps organize Vranovske zborove slavnosti each year.

Leadership

The choir is directed by Vilma Krauspeova and Vojtech Filip Kopko. Accompanists are Vojtech Filip Kopko, Tomas Popernik, and Alexandra Grominova.
