Festival overview
The 22nd International Choral Festival took place on June 18-21, 2009 under the patronage of the Mayor of Vranov nad Toplou.
Information about the festival
- Non-competitive festival open to all choir categories.
- Choirs from Slovakia and abroad were invited to participate.
- Concerts took place in the Culture House and churches in Vranov nad Toplou, Humenné, Hanušovce nad Toplou, and nearby municipalities.
The conditions for participation of choirs in the festival
- Choirs participated either:
- in reciprocal exchange mode (without accommodation/board fees),
- or without reciprocity (with accommodation/board/travel costs).
- Accommodation and board were arranged in holiday centers, school hostels, hotels, and host families.
- For the common gala concert, choirs prepared Eugen Suchoň’s composition ‘Aká si mi krásna’.
Festival review
The 22nd edition brought a broad concert schedule in Vranov nad Toplou, Hanušovce nad Toplou, and Humenné, with participation from both foreign and domestic choirs. Reports highlight especially strong audience response at the gala concert and church concerts.
The edition also included workshops, seminars, discussion clubs, exhibition activities, and choir visits in the region, strengthening cooperation and exchange among participating ensembles.
