Festival overview
The jubilee 25th International Choral Festival was held on June 14-17, 2012 under the patronage of the Mayor of Vranov nad Toplou and the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
Information about the festival
- Non-competitive jubilee festival open to all age categories.
- Choirs from Slovakia and abroad were invited to participate.
- Concerts took place in the Culture House and churches in Vranov nad Toplou, Hanušovce nad Toplou, Humenné, and nearby municipalities.
The conditions for participation of choirs in the festival
- Choirs could participate:
- in reciprocal exchange mode,
- or without reciprocity (with accommodation/board/travel costs).
- Accommodation and board were arranged in holiday centers, school hostels, hotels, and host families.
- For the gala concert, choirs prepared Eugen Suchoň’s composition ‘Aká si mi krásna’.
Festival review
The 25th edition offered five festival concerts and a gala concert with foreign and domestic choirs. Reports from the organizers highlight the strong artistic level of the participating ensembles and the successful shared closing performance.
The festival was complemented by workshops, seminars, exhibitions, museum visits, discussion clubs, and social meetings, which further strengthened cooperation among choirs and organizers.
