Festival overview
The 20th International Choral Festival was held in Vranov nad Toplou, Slovakia (June 14-17, 2007) under the patronage of the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic and the Mayor of Vranov nad Toplou.
Information about the festival
- Non-competitive festival open to all age categories.
- Choirs from Slovakia and abroad were invited to participate.
- Concerts took place in the Culture House and churches in Vranov nad Toplou, in Hanušovce nad Toplou, and in nearby locations.
The conditions for participation of choirs in the festival
- Choirs were invited:
- as reciprocal partners (no accommodation/board fee),
- without reciprocity (accommodation and board fee was required).
- Accommodation and board were offered in Juskova Voľa, school hostel facilities, hotel options in Vranov nad Toplou, and host families.
- For the common gala concert, choirs prepared Eugen Suchoň’s composition ‘Aká si mi krásna’.
Festival review
The jubilee 20th edition combined concerts with seminars and workshops and included broad international participation. According to festival reports, the strongest audience response came during the gala concert and the shared closing performance of ‘Aká si mi krásna’.
Alongside concerts, the festival hosted exhibitions, discussion clubs, and choir networking activities, which helped participants exchange repertoire, contacts, and practical experience.
