37th International Choral Festival

Festival overview

The XXXVII. International Choral Festival took place from 12 to 14 June 2026 under the patronage of the Mayor of the Town of Vranov nad Topľou, with the financial contribution of the Fund for Arts and the Town of Vranov nad Topľou.

How the festival unfolded

The XXXVII. International Choral Festival once again brought choirs from Slovakia and abroad to Vranov nad Topľou. For three days the town belonged to shared singing — in its streets and in its churches.

On Friday 12 June the choirs presented themselves in a procession through the town and in short performances in front of the House of Culture as part of the Days of the Town of Vranov nad Topľou. In the evening, festival concerts followed — in the Greek Catholic Church of St. Pio of Pietrelcina in Vranov nad Topľou – South and in the Roman Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist in Sedliská.

On Saturday 13 June, Mgr. art. Andrea Bošeľová led a workshop for the choirs and guests in the Mladosť cinema of the House of Culture. In the afternoon the choirs visited Čičva Castle and the Barkóczy family crypt, where they also sang.

The festival culminated in the gala concert in the Greek Catholic Church of the Most Holy Eucharist. All the choirs presented their programmes beautifully, and at the close eight choirs joined together to sing Eugen Suchoň’s “Aká si mi krásna”. After the gala concert the choirs gathered for a shared dinner at the Secondary Vocational School of Woodworking, where — together with the OZVENA youth choir and soloists of the Private Music School — the singing and celebration continued long into the evening.

• Non-competitive choral festival with international participation for all age groups.
• Choirs from Slovakia and abroad took part.
• Concerts took place in the Culture House, churches in Vranov nad Topľou, a church in Sedliská, and villages in the Vranov region.
